Due to the very limited space on this model, the standard Bolt-on kit for this model requires some modifications:
First the 17mm spacers under the stock perches must be removed. If retaining the stock bar height is important, then we suggest you select the weld-on kit or the DT-SUB MOUNT kit which includes an upper triple clamp. The 17mm spacers prohibit the height for us to make a strong enough tower to reach that high. The steering lock box must be trimmed slightly as per instructions, but it remains functional.
Must trim the back of Triple clamp to allow for pinch bolt clearance (easy mod).
Most require counter boring the pinch bolt hole so the bolt goes in farther.
We supply a button head bolt to help with this clearance. Most of the mods are simple but require patience to perform. You can view the pictured instructions attached to this listing to see what's involved.
If you have any questions, please feel free to call or email and we'll try to answer any questions you have.
Note: the kit pictured here is not the 640 kit but depicts the idea of what parts come in each kit. You can view photos of the actual 640 kit online under the photos tab.
The bolt-on kit literally bolts on and usually mounts around the head tube. Installation time varies from bike to bike but normally takes about 45 minutes depending on your skills and the model of motorcycle. This kit is specific to each bike with consideration for which combination of bars and triple clamps are being used. We have meticulously designed these kits to make your installation time fast and easy. This kit typically will include a Stabilizer, link arm, handlebar clamp, frame backet, step by step pictured instructions, owners manual and applicable hardware. Some models may require replacement handlebars. We can assist you in that choice also. If you have any questions regarding any installation guidelines or special applications, please give us a call. The Photo attached here may be a generic photo to show you the basic components in the kit, but may not be showing the exact kit for your specific bike.
